For many people joining a sorority can seem scary and exciting all at the same time. When I was contemplating joining a sorority, all I knew was I wanted to get involved on campus and to make friends. So I had some of my friends in a sorority get me in contact with the VP of recruitment for Alpha Gamma Delta. I decided to go through COB (continuous open bidding) with them and I immediately fell in love with how close everyone was with each other. On my first night we ate dinner in the food court on campus and I will forever remember this night because the person in the sorority who ended up being my sorority mom was the same person who was VP of recruitment. Just those small conversations at COB with everyone was all I needed to make up my mind that this was the sorority for me. So when I got my bid I was beyond excited. What excited me more was getting my Sorority mom. I was so excited when It was revealed to me that it was Ashley. I remember putting together the puzzle of her name and seeing all the pieces that spelled out Ashley and just running and giving her a hug. I was beyond excited. Knowing that I was going to have someone in the sorority who would have my best interest at heart was so kind. We were pretty similar and had a lot of the same things in common that we liked. I enjoyed getting to know her. She made being in

the sorority so much fun. I am thankful that I had such a great relationship with Ashley because even after she went early alum we still got together to hang out and eat lunch every now and then to catch each other up on what's going on in our lives. Having such a great relationship with my sorority mom made me want to be one myself (But that's a story for another blog). Get your self a sorority mom who can make you laugh, smile, and is always down for goofy pictures. I was very fortunate to have the relationship I do have with my sorority mom. I'm thankful for the memories and cannot wait to make more as the years go on. Here's to a lifetime of fun memories and good times.
